MIchelle Wood has more than 30 years of experience managing large-scale national program evaluations and applied social science research. She has managed several national random assignment studies.Wood is the project director for the Social Security Administration’s Benefit Offset National Demonstration Project. She manages a large team, including subcontractors and consultants, to implement and evaluate a $1-for-$2 benefit offset for the Social Security Disability Insurance program. The project scope of work includes designing and executing large-scale participant outreach and recruitment, implementing secure data systems, managing complex data collection, designing a communications strategy, operating a call center, providing training and technical assistance to local agencies, and documenting the results in process, participation, net impact and cost-benefit analyses. 

Dr. Gabriella Newes-Adeyi has more than 25 years of experience managing and implementing public health research projects that focus on disease epidemiology and surveillance, research-to-practice strategies, and health behavior change. A skilled manager, she has directed multiple large, complex multisite research projects. As a principal associate and client account lead for infectious diseases in Abt’s public health portfolio, Dr. Newes-Adeyi leverages all Abt’s capabilities to deliver solutions that match client priorities. She leads growth of new infectious disease work and ensures high-quality delivery of existing contracts.

Alan White is a nationally renowned health economist, highly respected for his rapid response to clients’ complex information and research needs with data-driven, creative solutions. As the senior health economist for the Health Policy Practice, he leads high-profile projects and guides the practice’s health economists.

Judith A. Alamprese has more than 35 years of experience directing research, evaluation and technical assistance projects in adult education and workforce development. Trained as a sociologist, she has focused on system and individual-level interventions to promote the social and economic well-being of low-skilled adults and at-risk youth. For 18 years she has led the division’s adult learning practice, where her work has ranged from leading rigorous evaluations of innovative practices in basic skills instruction to designing state-systemic change initiatives in career pathways.

Francoise Armand is a portfolio manager and senior private sector adviser providing technical leadership and support in international health.She is responsible for supporting Abt’s private-sector health portfolio, and oversaw the DFID-supported Zambia Scaling Up Family Planning project. Armand has expertise in the area of market-based strategies for health, including total market initiatives under the USAID-funded Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) project. She has more than 15 years of program management expertise in global health, with a focus on family planning and reproductive health, HIV and AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and maternal and child health.

Hannah Betesh has over a decade of experience designing, managing, and conducting rigorous implementation and impact studies of interventions for low-income workers and families, including programs that address substance use disorder. Betesh’s methodological expertise is in measuring and documenting program implementation to support adoption of evidence-based practices. Her federal clients have included the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), the Department of Labor (DOL), and the Department of Justice (DOJ).

Nduka Iwuchukwu is a Medical Doctor with more than 30 years of experience in clinical care, public health, safety, environment, and innovation management. He has provided technical assistance on vector control interventions to National Malaria  Programs in Nigeria, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, and Guatemala. He has developed several innovations in malaria vector control including indoor residual spraying (IRS) supervision and monitoring tools, field operational protocols, and novel designs for implementing community-based IRS operations.

Rosa Amboage is an environmental economist with 10 years of experience expanding markets for nature-based solutions (NbS) to achieve climate, economic and social progress. Working across academic, private, and public sectors, her expertise includes land use policy, NbS, environmental markets, green finance, and natural resource management.Amboage contributed to the UK’s post-Brexit agri-environmental policies and designed its first national scheme promoting a natural capital approach to economic and climate goals. Before Abt, she was the lead economist of the £640M GBP ($740M USD) Nature for Climate Fund, a national program to help industries and communities realize net-zero ambitions.

David Kaz, a principal associate in Abt’s Social and Economic Policy Division, has nearly 20 years of experience providing technical assistance, training, research, and policy analysis. He has worked on a wide range of programs and policies that affect low-income populations. He has directed, designed, and conducted both large- and small-scale, multi-faceted technical assistance projects for federal and state agencies and other clients and stakeholders. Clients have included the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service, Washington State’s Department of Social and Health Services, King County, and the City of Seattle. He has worked on workforce legislation with members of Congress.
